Schedule of certification
Two certifications for a person, two for an enterprise. Each is annual, and each is earned.
The fee covers identity verification and the cost of genealogical review. It does not purchase the outcome. An applicant who pays can still be denied, and a denial can be appealed with additional evidence within thirty days.
Certifies a person's lineage
Identity verification and full Research Division review, tracing your line of descent to a named ancestor living in America in 1870.
Everything in Basic, plus a researched, DOUSCS-branded lineage record.
Certifies an enterprise
Certifies your business as descendant-owned and lists it in the national registry.
For businesses that are not descendant-owned but stand with this community.
Personal Certification comes first. Your lineage is reviewed once, as a person - not again for every business you own.
The fine print, in plain English
Certification is held for a year and renewed. A lapsed certification is removed from the public directory.
Certification says the ownership was reviewed. It says nothing about a business's products, services, or commercial conduct.
